Resolved Question: What do you think about this?

LeBron James- #23 Shaquille O'Neal- #33 Ron Artest- (If he does come to Cleveland I hope he gets this number)- #91 And then Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman all had the same numbers, 23, 33 and 91 respectively.  more

Resolved Question: Who are your top 10 players, pre and post 80's?

Mine are... Pre 80's(numbers 5-10 in no particular order) 1. Bill Russell 2. Wilt Chamberlain 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4. Jerry West 5. Oscar Robertson 6. Elgin Baylor 7. Bob Petit 8. Bob Cousy 9. Walt Frazier 10. David Thompson Post 80's(numbers 6-10 in no particular order) 1. Michael Jordan 2. Magic Johnson Larry Bird 4. Hakeem Olajuwon 5. Kobe Bryant 6. Moses Malone 7. Karl Malone 8. John Stockton 9. Tim Duncan 10. Shaq O'Neal I couldn't very well put Magic or Bird at 3... so i decided to but 2 number 2's. BQ: Would you agree with these lists? who would you add or remove? The reason i don't have LeBron is because i don't think he's surpased a lot of these player career wise. If this was a few years in the future, he'd easily be there.  more

Resolved Question: What exactly was Michael Jordan the best at?

@ The best scorer?....- Wilt Chamberlain has 56 NBA single-season records to Jordan's 4. Wilt nearly QUADRUPLED the number of 50 point games Jordan had in his career. Wilt led the league in assists, fg%, minutes and rebounds 29 times to Jordan's Zero. He owns 6 of the 9 70+ point games in history - Jordan has zero. He topped Jordan's best scoring season three times and Wilt's best scoring season is 13 ppg higher than Jordan's. Imagine Jordan leading the league in scoring at 33 ppg and the runner up having 20 ppg. Simply put, Wilt was in a class ahead of Jordan. @ The best postseason player?....Bill Russell. He has 11 championships to Jordan's 6. He has nearly TWICE the number of championships. Therefore, Bill Russell simply has to be better than Jordan. Let me repeat that - as impressive as Jordan's six titles are, it simply pales in comparison to Russell. To win 6 championships, it took Michael Jordan 14 years and Bill Russell only 7 years. Jordan played 15 seasons to Russell's 13, yet Russell has FIVE more championships than Jordan. Jordan and Magic Johnson COMBINED have as many rings as Bill Russell. Jordan and Magic defined "winning" for an entire generation! Yet, it takes both of them together to match the dominance of Bill Russell! @ Finals MVP'S?....Who is the AWARD NAMED AFTER?..NOT MJ - A Jordan fan cannot say that Jordan was a better individual player than Russell. After all, Russell AVERAGED over 22 rebounds per game. He is acknowledged by most to be the greatest defensive player in the history of the game, and to go along with that, he finished in the top 10 in the league in assists FOUR times (Jordan only did this once). He added 15 ppg to go along with this superior passing, rebounding, and defense. @ SCORING AVG? ... Wilt is simply the greatest scorer ever. Jordan fans will claim that because Jordan averages less than 0.5 points per game more for his career, this makes him better. However, they don't consider that Jordan didn't log in as many career minutes, nor as many minutes per game. When both men put their minds to scoring, it's not even close. Wilt once AVERAGED 50.4 ppg. Jordan's best season is 37.1 ppg - a number Wilt bested on 3 different occasions. Jordan never had a 70 point game. Wilt had 6 games with at least 70. Wilt's best game is 100 points. Wilt won 7 consecutive scoring titles, which is the same number as Jordan's best streak. The only reason Wilt quit winning scoring titles is because his coach asked him to pass off more (Wilt was already in the top 10 in the league in assists). Wilt gladly did and he and 3 of his teammates each put up over 18 ppg the next season, on their way to the title. Wilt has almost 80 more games with 50+ points than Jordan. Wilt also holds the record for most free throws made in a game (28), most field goals made in a game without a miss (18), most consecutive field goals without a miss (35), best field goal % in a season (nearly 73%), most times leading the league in fg% (9), most consecutive games with 40+ points scored (14), He won seven scoring titles, 11 rebounding titles, and led the league in minutes played 8 times. He averaged over 45 minutes per game every game of his career. In 1967-68 he led the league in assists – something Jordan has never came close to doing. Chamberlain holds the records for points scored in a season and a game (100), rebounds in a game (55), season, and career., as well as minutes played in a season (he averaged 48.5 min/game in 1961-62), and field goal percentage in a season (72.7%). @Finals Scoring?....WTF?...Jordan fans will say that Russell was not a great offensive player. In his best season, Russell averaged 18.9 ppg on 45% shooting. and 4.5 apg (this assists average is more than Jordan's 1996-98 average, and Russell was a center!). However, this point is moot. you compare players based on championships. You obviously think Magic Johnson is better than Larry Bird, even though Bird averaged more points. So what if Russell didn't score 20 ppg? If you want to argue that, then the lesson to be learned is that ballhogging is not the key to winning championships. Everybody with any basketball knowledge knows defense and rebounding wins championships and Russell is the greatest defensive player in history and the second greatest rebounder. If Jordan were more interested in winning than in scoring points, then he would have more championships. You judge players based on championships. Therefore, you must conclude that Bill Russell is the greatest player in history - not Michael Jordan. What exactly was MJ the best at again?...... "PWNING Queen since 07'" 1rst off......weed space - The best "overall" would be Oscar robertson....not that I expect your dumb basketball illiterate mind to know who he is......and Phil Jackson has already said "kobe is the best overall player I ever coached".....so YOU FAIL! 2nd.... "Rock" the weakest era is the watered down 90's......not the 60's and 70's.....funny how MJ could'nt win J@CK in the 80's.....it was'nt until expansion teams and Highschool Kids came into the league before he could win...you also FAIL! 2EZ... KONJ - I would say Kobe has the most Haters......so you also FAIL! "Rock"...sorry but MJ is a BELOW 50% FG shooter....wow you are a "ROCK"....you FAIL! ROCK - MJ put up BIG numbers in the 80's because he was a BALLHOGG! he shot the ball 35 times in order to score points....BUT HE STILL LOST!.. The waterd down 90's...Craig Ehlo , John Starks , Byron Russell , Tony Brown , Jerome kersey , Richard Dumas , etc.....YOU FAIL! EDIT : DUDE!..MJ shot over 50% 5 times his first 6 years...he only shot 50% or higher ONCE his Final 9 seasons.......49% is BELOW 50 you dumb bastard! "ROCK"...actually Mj got drafted 3rd overall and led the Bull's to 3 straight LOSING seasons......Pippen came along in 1988 and made them winners....YOU FAIL....... you are a "ROCK" ROCK - Did you even watch MJ play?...because I remember everyone calling him a BALLHOGG!...because he WAS!.....you probably were'nt born yet? If Kobe had guy's like Craig Ehlo and John Starks gaurding him I'm sure he could shoot 50% as well. But according to you... 49% is somehow the greatest?.. PS: Jordan scored 63 points and LOST!!!! Kobe never did that as well! "shot as much as Kobe"....MJ averaged MORE FG attempts per game then Kobe does!.....you are a friggin "ROCK".. YOU FAIL! Miles - "6'6" white guy's?....Russell is only 6'9"....Russell played against more HOF's then Jordan!...and since when is Kareem and Wilt a 6'6" white guy?.....and since when is height the determining factor?...Yao Ming is 6" taller then Shaq! he aint dominating like Wilt and Russell....according to YOU...Russell only had a 3" height advantage!...... Have you looked at the guy's gaurding MJ?...Craig Ehlo, jeff Horncek , Scott woods , Danny Ainge.....lol..... PS: The so called 6'6" white Guy's have been whooping are azz the past decade in olympic basketball.....until Kobe rescued us!...YOU FAIL! MILES - YOU ARE RETARDED...How is the watered down 90's more physical then the 60's and 70's...Players were allowed to grab and HOLD in the 60's...if you looked at MJ wrong you got a foul!......The Piston's NEVER ONCE knocked Jordan to the Ground! NEVER!....and the your whole Easier to score in the 60's and 70's is BOGUS!...they changed the Rules to slow Wilt's Dominance!...they changed the Rules to help MJ's....moved the 3pt line in!...a Darko - here is why Jordan is'nt #1.... Wilt has 56 NBA single-season records to Jordan's 4. Simply put, Wilt was in a class ahead of Jordan. continued......A Jordan fan will respond with, "Yeah, but Wilt only has 2 rings to Jordan's 6". Fine. That means stats mean very little and the much stronger emphasis is on championships. When one man so strongly overwhelms another in the area of statistical accomplishments, to say he is not better means stats are irrelevant. We are not talking about Kobe Bryant vs. Tracy McGrady or Charles Barkley vs. Karl Malone - guys with similar numbers. We are talking about a mismatch that rivals Shaq versus Greg Kite. continued for Miles .......Therefore, to say Jordan is better is Wilt means stats and scoring are irrelevant. Since championships are the overwhelming factor, then we have to look at the man who prevented Wilt from winning more championships - Bill Russell. Resolved Question: What's more impressive, Being The Fastest (MJ) or Youngest (Kobe) to reaching 20,000 Points?

Example: It took Michael Jordan 620 games to reach 20,000 Points to Kobe Bryant's 811 games to reach 20,000 Points. There is a 191 game spread between Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant to reach 20,000 Points....LMFAO! BTW, Kobe Bryant falls at #15 at being the fastest to reach 20,000 Points...Lol http://www.interbasket.net/news/171/2007/12/24/kobe-youngest-but-not-fastest-to-reach-20000-points/ Anyways, you Kobe fans need to stop being so hung up on the youngest player to do this and youngest player to do that. That's just a NBA/Media hyped stat that's TRYING to make Kobe/Lebron to look great. They may be the youngest to reach a certain amount of points but they aren't the most IMPRESSIVE! I'm far more impressed with Allen Iverson being # 6 (713 Games) at being the fastest to reach 20,00 points than Kobe being the youngest but is at number # 15 (811 Games) at being the fastest. MOST OF KOBE BRYANT'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE WORTHLESS AND OVERRATED..LMFAO!  more

Resolved Question: who are the top twenty nba players of all time?

please justify your answers,. don't spam and note: i am comparing your answers with my answers and slam magazines 02 opinion, so you should include your comparisons between your thoughts, mine, and slam magazine and again rationalize your answers. this is slam magazines 1.Michael Jordan 2.Wilt Chamberlain 3.Oscar Robertson 4.Bill Russell 5.Magic Johnson 6.Larry Bird 7.Kareem-Abdul Jabbar 8.Jerry West 9.Shaquille O'Neal 10.Julius Erving 11.Elgin Baylor 12. Hakeem Olajuwon 13.Karl Malone 14.Bob Petitt 15.John Havlicek 16.Moses Malone 17.Isiah Thomas 18.John Stockton 19.Charles Barkley 20.Walt Frazier, mine is bill russell, greatest winner ever, defense, team, the only important thing in sports is winning and russel won more than any other. The other celtics didnt make russel, he made them. russels teamates used to psyche out the other team when they were on the brake by yelling i got him in an imitation of russels voice, prompting the opposing players to become so paniced that they missed what were really wide open layups. No other player has inspired such fear. The won person who truly understood russels value was the smartest man ever involved in basketball, red auerbach. He was one of the few who really understood how great russell really was. Russel himself was definately the smartest player in nba history, hahamicheal jordan. And an underrated athlete with great hops and foot speed. He played through injuries, always showed up, and cared more than anyone but perhaps red himself jordan: for the reasons everyone knows, 6rings, great athlete, great scorer, smart, super clutch, super dedicated, a smarter more physically talented more clutch kobe in an era when a kobe/jordan like player had never been seen before. globalized the nba. oscar robertson at 3, a smaller bird with slightly less shooting touch, he is the only person to average a triple double over a season and came close many times. he won a championship and would have won more if he had had more than one good supporsting player. People talk about bringing it all in big games,. because robertsons teams were often so bad he had to bring it every game to win. The greatest all round player in the nba ever. wilt chamberlain at 4. he wasnt higher because he was constantly beat out by russel for championships and much of his succes resulted from a league that allowed him from hsi great stature to simply drop the ball in the basket. Still, he almost always brought it and his statistical accomplishments and sheer presence warrant him a spot at number 4. I tie magic and bird for a 5/6 combo. They were both triple double machines and played with heart and championship, made their teams infinitely better, were ultimate team players who played within a system, and some of the greatest clutch players of all time on some of the best teams of all time. Although magic may have been slightly so skiled they comprised the parthenon of basketball in their eras and any two guys of about 68+ who could between them score 30, post triple doubles, shoot gamewinning threes and hooks, win i htink 8 champs and revolutionize the league belong. Magic was the most confident baller of the glitzy period and bird would have played longer if he wasnt the classic dive to the floor play through injuries by any means necessary ball of toughness. Also, any dude who can one: ask his teamates if they want to win in a clutch game and after recieving a yes, tell them that to do that they have to get out of his expletive way (bird) and then win the game and after being questioned how do you do that, reply, oh that, i do that all the time, and say that truthfully, is one of the greatest players of all time. next on the list are kareem: championships, scoring alltime title, longevity, toughness, and showing up in big games, one of the best skilled big men in nba history, if not the best, jerry west and john hondo havlicek are tied because they both partially embodied clutch, constant effort, go to guy, toughness, and constant offense. Many championships spanning 2 eras. jerry was the only player ever to win a nba finals mvp while playing on the losing team. enough said. havlicek supplied westlike gamewinners, scoring, defense, constant hustle, and the most amazingly athletic and stamina gifted guard of that era. finally, since this has been so long, ill just rank olajuwon last on the high list: multiple time champ, most athletic big ever, and thats not just leaping and speed, thats coordination and grace. Monster scorer and rebounder and defender/shotblocker. if you arent sold on that, go to a video site and watch the complete rockets versus spurs playoff series where the dream matched up against all time great ben robinson. If thats not abuse i dont know what is. what he did to robinson during big bens own mvp year should have been illegal and in this era probably is. actually, ill add tim duncan because of his consistency, skill longevity, and guys, kobe won 3 rings as a supporting player. Its nothing when one team has the two best players in the league and all the best roleplayers. I think that in the end of his career he will probably be like 20 or 15 if he wins a champ or two alone. the truth here is he just isnt great great. He is very smart player, can carry a team, one of the most complete offensive players in recent history, a very good clutch player, and a quality perimeter defender. Still, as youll see, i ussed the adjectives very and good and one of the best. He is not yet worthy of the adjective "great" or greatest" in five years he may be. kobe is better than frazier in individual skill and possibly even as a winner. Lebron is not better than havlicek. He is an athletic freak still developing a skill game. He is a highly overrated defensive player, especially on ball. He is a very good scorer but he is not yet, lethal in clutch, although he is very good. Also his team just blew the eastern conference finals against what is only a pretty good team. It was not hsi fault but he has won nothing. He may end up being thought of as super barkley with no real win related accolades. Hovever in 15 years he may be the greatest of all time. But as of now legacy wise john havlicek makes him look like a clown. Its not really about skill or talent after a certain level. Once u reach htis level, its about rings. by the way the only crime is putting shaq anywhere near top ten. All he did is lower his shoulder and dunk the ball. His succes was the result of physical gifts completely, not skill or dedication ro mindset. Hi is a very good player but top ten, who the heck are we kidding. Thats like saying phil jackson is a better coach than red auerbach. Red Auerbach was a genious, phil is the designated babysitters of grown mens egos. jordan, kobe, and shaq. skk, kobe at 7 is a joke as ive already expressed. also, i dont care for stockton because he didnt win anything. also ranking russel, the greatest WINNER in sports history at 6 or 7 is a crime. whats the most important aspect of sports. winning, whats the goal, winning, who won, by any means necessary. Russel. Also pippen doesnt deserve top 50, maybe top 75, i dont care if he played with and supported micheal. He couldnt be the best player on a champ team. And he could only max 23 and 8. very good player, heavily overrated. I like having drexler, i also like that u moved shaq back, alhtough id probably send him further also, ben robinson is definately a spectacular player, but duncan is in the conversation for best winning pf of all time. Robinson, mr. "the admiral" was great but duncan has surpassed him in legacy. also, i dont think i could ever include mikan, although he was the nba's first great star and first great big man, he was a limited player, he belongs at something like 30. All i know is that if he had russel or wilt or even duncan on him, he would have been ineffective on offense and his only defensive tool was size, although defense wasnt really important in that era, russel really revolutionized the importance of d. He also invented any form of defense that involves leaving your feet, practically inventing the modern shot block and paint contest. At this piont in time players are so lazy they cheat and leave their feet more often than they need to. Im sick of hearing about shaq except maybe on VERY EDGE of 20, overrated waste of talent. Could have been best player ever. Instead he was the best player in a weak league. a very good player, not a great one. when i think of shaq i feel depressed. If he had worked out, worked in the offseason, improved freethrows and mid range jumper, in continuation, shaq could have been the most dominant, multitalented big men ever, maybe best player ever. Instead hes a hasbin who got by on monumental talent. If he learned all the facets of the game, worked, kept in shape, and really wanted to win/wasnt a headcase he could have 30 all star nods, 30 all nba 1st teams, 15+scoring and rebounding titles, league leader in fg % and blocked shots regularly, defensive player of the year at least 3 times, maybe a 8 or 10 time champ. Shaq was constantly put on teams with good surrounding talent. He could have been zues in terms of greek mythology, zues after he vanquished the titans. Instead he was an equisitly gifted water nimph with with anyone else is spectacular succes. With him though, it is mediocre. oh, by the way i forgot kareem. He should be somewhere between 3 and 7. one of the alltime greats. Never gets enough credit. not the greatest player of all time, probably not 3rd, but could be at best a very borderline bias 2, 50/50 3, legit 4, overqualified 5-7.  more

Resolved Question: Where do you rank Kobe Bryant on your all time list as of now?

As of now, I have Kobe at number 8. 1. Michael Jordan 2. Magic Johnson 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4. Larry Bird 5. Wilt Chamberlain 6. Bill Russell 7. Shaquille O'Neal 8. Kobe Bryant If Kobe can win his 4th ring in these Finals, he'll move to number 7 on my list. If he can win 5 titles, he'll move all the way to number 2 and be considered in my mind the greatest Laker of all time.  more

Resolved Question: Do you think all NBA teams should retire #23 in honor of Michael Jordan?

I think they should. The MLB did it with Jackie Robinson (#42) and the NHL did it with Wayne Gretzky (#99). Players who have the number currently (LeBron) should wear it though, but I think nobody in the future should wear #23. The Miami Heat retired #23 even though Jordan had nothing to do with them.  more

Resolved Question: Creepy people keep calling my house, thinking it's Michael Jordan?

Usually, out of lazy habit, I let my machine pick up my calls. Just recently (starting perhaps a few weeks ago), kids start calling my house, thinking it's Michael Jordan's fan number. And they call about once a week or so. Usually I raise an eyebrow and don't pick it up, me being paranoid thinking it's a robot trying to steal my information (don't ask me how xD). Anyway, they don't sound like robots. They sound like honest-to-god kids, the most recent one telling me he was born in 2008, lives in ---, Illinois, this is my home phone number --, this is my cell number --, I love you and think you're awesome, I watch your videos everyday, I hope you can call me back somehow became I love you so much, etc. This seriously went on for like four minutes! I felt bad so I finally picked up and said, "Hello?" A little voice said "Hello..." back, But when I asked, "Is this a real person? " they promptly hung up. What do you think? Honestly, it's REALLY creepy. I mean, there's ten-year-olds that exist that are totally in love with Michael Jordan? On the other hand, what kind of telemarketers are these? xD  more

Resolved Question: A few words about lebron james, who agrees with me?

After watching the cleveland cavaliers for the last 6 years, there's one thing that has become clear to me. The cavaliers aren't EVER going to win with lebron james being the number 1 scoring option. Plain and Simple. Lebron needs to be the scottie pippen to someone's michael jordan in order to win. This isn't a knock on lebron but it's just a fact of the matter, his skill set is so diverse (rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, etc.) that he shouldn't have to score 28-30 points per game for them to win. He should have to put up about 18-20 points with bout 7 or 8 rebounds and 7 or 8 assists, 2 stls, and a block or so. And he could focus more on the defensive end and become a lockdown defender because he has the physical talents (speed, quickness, size, strength) to become one of the best on-ball and help defenders EVER. That's why the cavaliers need to find a guy (whether it be a big man like Shaq or a scoring machine like Kobe Bryant) that can be the primary scorer and lebron would still have the biggest impact of anybody on the court. GOD that took a while, but do you agree or disagree, and why? no all of you don't get what im saying, there's nobody in the NBA that can be a scottie pippen player except for lebron james. because there's nobody in the NBA today that can put up the all around numbers like Lebron does and like pippen could put up in his prime. darko, i disagree i think lebron is a better version of scottie pippen (look at scotties numbers in his prime, besides scoring they look an awful lot like lebron's do). lebron's not a lockdown defender tho. only a biased idiot would say that. don't get me wrong, he's gotten better at playing man on man defense, and he makes a lot of hustle blocks, but he needs to get better at that end of the floor. well i just think either they need to get a guy that can flat out score (michael redd, ben gordon, etc.) and let lebron reduce his scoring by bout 7 or 8, or get somebody that can facilitate the offense (some1 like lamar odom) and let lebron become strictly a scorer (where he'd probably average bout 32-35 points per game). because all of this "lebron do everything" stuff the cavaliers keep pulling isn't gonna win them a championship. well i just think either they need to get a guy that can flat out score (michael redd, ben gordon, etc.) and let lebron reduce his scoring by bout 7 or 8, or get somebody that can facilitate the offense (some1 like lamar odom) and let lebron become strictly a scorer (where he'd probably average bout 32-35 points per game). because all of this "lebron do everything" stuff the cavaliers keep pulling isn't gonna win them a championship.  more

Voting Question: Hey NBA Voters... Where is your LeFake M.V.P.? Guess ya'll voted wrong eh?

With all of this hype surrounding LeBron James, (winning the MVP, muppet commercials, etc...) it would seem that he should have been able to get his team into the Finals with relatively little effort. His team had no injuries, no suspensions, no reason whatsoever that if he was as good as people make him out to be, that he shouldn't be in the Finals. It's the same LeFake crap that has existed since he was first drafted into the NBA and given the Rookie of the year award over Carmelo Anthony. Melo at least was able to show his capabilities against Kobe this year in the Western Finals. Why do people worship this guy so much? He is pompous and arrogant, trying to be a copycat of Michael Jordan in everything he does (even to the number 23), albeit unsuccessfully, yet when being interviewed, he puts on this false pretense of being a meek, honest boy from humble background. He went to a prep school for crying out loud and his arrogance shows in his reactions on the court. It's quite obvious that he hates the fact that Kobe is better than he is, even if he'll admit it for show when being interviewed. At least Kobe doesn't try to be Michael Jordan. Instead he tries to be a great player by making his own signature on the NBA. If people want to compare him to Jordan or whomever, that's fine, but at least that is not his goal. His objective is to go down as a key player to make a difference. LeFake's goal is to go down as the player who became the new Jordan. Something that will never happen again.  more

Resolved Question: True or False: Skill Wise Kobe Bryant Is Better Than Michael Jordan?

SKILL WISE NOT ACHIEVEMENT WISE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Even Phil Jackson admitted it people. He coached both Jordan and Kobe. Watch the video > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_WNTx3gG_s&feature=channel_page Quit thinking about Jordan the icon, and think about pure skill. Its Kobe Bryant. Achievement wise Jordan reached his 6th NBA Finals at the age of 35 which was his last appearance. Kobe is only 30 and he is already reached his 6th appearance. Also, if you know Kobe he is one hard worker, so yeah his athletic ability might decline, but he will still be putting up his number and leading his team back deep into the playoffs. And by 35 he could have surpassed Jordan in titles and alot of career achievement crap people like to look at to say who is better. Fact right now is who do you think is better SKILL WISE? Kobe or Jordan  more

Voting Question: Do you feel that Kobe Bryant for the most part of his NBA career has been overshawdowed?

I am not the biggest Kobe fan but I think that when he retires in 5-6 years. I would see him as possibly being number 5 for players of all time. Behind Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Oscar Robertson. I think he has been the best player after Michael Jordan has retired.  more

Resolved Question: Who should I root for Lebron or Kobe?

My favorite players of all time are Allen Iverson, Michael Jordan, Dwayne Wade and Derrick Rose, but I'm not sure who to root for in these playoffs because none of my favorite players are in anymore and my Bulls got knocked out. Resolved Question: Muslim violence worldwide?

Why is it that the Arab-Muslim world blames all their problems on Israel? If you asked any of the Arab-Muslim countries what their biggest issue is, they would say Israel. My question is this: What is the response by the Islamic community and their supporters to this statistic- Since Israel's creation in 1948, 11 million Muslims have been killed in armed conflict. Out of those 11 million, 10 million were killed by other Muslims (90.9%). Israel is responsible for about 60,000 of those deaths, or one half of one percent. So when you take these facts into account (in addition to the fact that Jordan killed more than twice the number of Palestinians in one year than Israel killed in 60 years), don't you think it is indicative of a bigger problem within the Islamic community than just Israel being in the Middle East and that maybe, just maybe, they use it as a scapegoat sometimes? (Note: I am not in any way saying that all Muslims are evil or violent. I am merely suggesting that there may be a large schism within the islamic community which causes many problems that are then blamed on Israel). Michael W- Since I already know you are going to avoid answering my question, I would ask you to refrain from posting unless you are actually going to address my question with an intelligent answer. Resolved Question: Do you find it silly that Kobe fans compare Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan?

Even though I never liked Jordan I think he was the greatest shooting guard to play the game and Kobe cant touch him for following reasons. Athletism While it may be true that today's players are more athletic than before tthe fact is that during the post jordan era only few players came close to matching his athletic abilities beside kobe (vince carter, t-mac, dwayne wade, and lebron james). Jordan was faster, had higher hops than Kobe Bryant, and had more strength after 30 than kobe did. Shooting Wise While Kobe is a better long range shooter than jordan overall he cannot score as much points as jordan did shooting over 50% for the fact he is not athletic as jordan or could finish as well as jordan did while he drived inside. Defense Jordan won a defensive player of the year award and Kobe did not. Jordan often guarded the 1st or 2nd perimeter option while Kobe guards weak defenders. For example Kobe Bryant guarded rondo instead of ray allen who is mainly a jump shooter. Intangibles When Jordan won rings with the bulls. He was easily the number one option (he won finals mvp 6 times) whereas pippen was not even a top 5 player in the league at that time. Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Akeem Olujawon, and Reggie Miller were all better than pippen. Whereas Kobe Bryant needed Shaq who was the best player in NBA at that time to win 3 championships.  more

Resolved Question: The number 23 - How wierd?

Has anyone seen the film? Its AMAZING. There is actually loads in the worlds to do with the number 23... 1 23 is one of the most commonly cited prime numbers - a number that can only be divided by itself and one. Twenty three is the lowest prime that consists of consecutive digits. Primes have been described as the "atoms" of mathematics - the building blocks of the world of numbers. An American businessman has put up a US$1m (£500,000) prize for the first mathematician to find a pattern in primes - a problem known as the Riemann hypothesis. 2 The number has been the subject of not one but two films: the 1998 German movie, 23, and The Number 23, starring Jim Carrey, released (naturally) today. Each has a main character obsessed with the number. 3 John Forbes Nash, the Nobel Prize-winning economist who was the subject of the film, A Beautiful Mind, starring Russell Crowe, was obsessed with 23. It featured prominently in his battle with mental illness. His breakdown began when he claimed that a photograph of Pope John XXIII on the cover of Life magazine was in fact him, the proof being that 23 was his favourite number. Nash published 23 scientific articles. 4 More freaky numerical coincidences: Charles Darwin's Origin of Species was published in 1859 - 1+8+5+9 = 23. Two divided by three makes 0.666 recurring (allegedly - actually it makes 0.6666666667). The Hiroshima bomb was dropped at 8.15am - 8+15= 23. 5 23rdians are a group of people who subscribe to the mystical power of 23 and see it in multiple combinations throughout daily life. 6 The Ancient Chinese believed numbers conveyed sexuality - evens for feminine and odds for masculine. They considered prime numbers to be the most masculine, conferring special status on 23 which is made up of two consecutive prime numbers and the only even prime number - two. 7 In the disaster movie, Airport, the bomber has seat 23. The number of crosses on Calvary at the end of the Monty Python film, The Life of Brian, is 23. In Die Hard With A Vengeance, a train derails in subway station 23. The lead characters in the Coen brothers' film The Big Lebowski always used Lane 23 at the bowling alley. In the television series Lost, one of the combination of six numbers that haunt the characters and they have to input to a computer to avoid an unknown fate is 23. 8 The terrorist attacks on America on 11 September 2001 have been held up as one of the most portentous examples of the disturbing power of 23. The figures in the date (9+11+2+0+0+1) add up to 23. The independent US commission which investigated the attacks found the date had been chosen randomly by the hijackers and had originally been planned for later in the year. Alternative explanations for the date included the taking over of Palestine by Britain in 1922 and the fact that 911 is the US emergency code. 9 Few hold 23 in more esteem than the followers of Discordianism, a self-declared religion based on the premise that discord and chaos are the building blocks of life. For Discordianists, 23 is the Holy Number and a tribute to the goddess Eris, who surveys a world of chaos. The mantra invoked by Discordianists for the Holy Number is "Invert The Pyramid". If you invert the sentence one letter at a time - eg "dinvert the pyramid", "id invert the pyram" etc - it takes 22 chants, finished by the line "The Pyramid Inverts" to make 23. The last line is called "the final energy releaser". Discordianism is described by some followers as "a joke disguised as a religion disguised as a joke". 10 Sport stars have developed a particular affinity (and aversion) to 23. Michael Jordan, the American basketball player, wore the number throughout his career and inspired many copy cat fans of wardrobe vigintitriplicity. Best known is former England captain David Beckham, who swapped his number seven Manchester United jersey for number 23 when he joined Real Madrid. Beckham, who said it was in deference to Jordan, is expected to continue wearing 23 when he joins LA Galaxy this summer. But the number is not always a harbinger of sporting good fortune. Manchester City have not assigned the squad number 23 to any player since 2003 after the last incumbent, Marc Vivien Foe, collapsed and died while playing for the Cameroon on 26 June 2003. Marcus Trescothick, the England cricket players, wears number 23 and was Australian bowler Shane Warne's 600th test wicket. Warne also wears 23. 11 The Bible does not let 23 pass without conferring upon it some significance, at least to students of the Book. Although the Old Testament is unspecific, it is widely held that Adam and Eve had 23 daughters. The 23rd verse of the first chapter of Genesis brings the act of creation to a close while the 23rd chapter of the book of Genesis deals entirely with death, namely that of Abraham's wife, Sarah. The most famous and most quoted of the Psalms is number 23: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in Err.. I was just making a discussion.  more

if you the age 12 OR UNDER...you should not read this and if you do, you should not repost this. Just because you were born in '96 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid. It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but four conscious years of the 90's just wont cut it. You're a 90's kid if: You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ] You remember watching: -Doug -Ren & Stimpy -Pinky and the Brain -AAAAAAAH Real Monsters! -Rockos modern Life. You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!" You just cant resist finishing this . . . "Iiiiiiin west philidelphia born and raised . . ." You remember: -TGIF -Step by Step -Family Matters -Dinosaurs -Boy Meets World -Sabrina The Teenage Witch You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons. Resolved Question: NBA: Michael Jordan or Wilt Chamberlain?

Who was indeed the better player, scorer, and leader? I keep getting people who say Wilt was the best scorer of All-Time. and rightfully so, but come on guys he put up huge numbers in a time when basketball was not that competitive and had little to none black guys. Reason why I said black guys is because they are the best athletes it seems in every sport they do. Wilt played against mainly white, skinny guys who were no taller than 6'6 at the most. I guarantee you if Wilt was to play in the 80s, 90s and even now, he would be no where near the player he was today. At best he would be another 20 and 10 Center in the league. Wilt was 7'1 and 280lbs. He was way ahead of his time. I'm not trying to put the man down but of course you are going to put up huge number when nobody can even defend you. Jordan on the other hand put up great number when the league was really competitive. He still managed to be the NBA's all time leader in ppg with 30. Not even Wilt beat him in that. Jordan was a better leader of course. Maybe the best leader we have ever seen on a basketball court. What do you guys think? Who do you honestly think was better? and explain. & please star the question :] LAL: Did you not read when I wrote he put up huge numbers in a weak era? Of course he is going to make some records. Come on now. Also, yes he played against mainly white players. You mentioned Ruseel. I agree he was a great competitor for Wilt. But that is ONE guy. LAL just doesn't get it that Wilt and Russell played in an era where there were'nt really any players who could gaurd them. OF COURSE THEY BOTH ARE GOING TO PUT UP BIG NUMBERS ON PEOPLE 6'7 AND SMALLER. GSW: Great answer bro! Sorry LAL, I know what you're trying to say but come on, Wilt would not even get close to putting up those kind of numbers he did than if he played in the 80s, 90s, and today. LAL: You are starting to pisss me off. How many times do I have to say that Wilt was great.... in his weak era. But, if he played in todays game he would at best be a 20, 10 guy. Yao vs Shaq is a dumb argument to make. Yes, Yao is much taller, but Shaq is still 7'1 350lbs. Not many players can go up against him. Doesn't matter if your 7'6 and 8'5. The reason why we don't have Yao putting up big numbers now is because the league is much more COMPETITIVE. Almost every PF/C is 6'10 and taller. And stronger, and quicker. So stop bring that BS. Nobody thinks Wilt is bad, we are merly saying that he would not be the same player if he played todays game.. especially in the 80s and 90s. Jimmy: Don't turn this around on me and make me out to be racist because I'm not. It's a fact that Black people are much better at sports, particularly at basketball than White people. With the exception of Bird. Don't make this question out to be racist or whatever, I'm simply taking about two players. So don't bring that BS in here kid.  more

Resolved Question: Java Eclipse Parallel loops question?

Java Eclipse Parallel arrays / temp loops question? I have to write a program using parallel arrays to answer some questions about the Chicago Bulls 1992-1993 winning season. So far, I have set up the arrays, but I'm not sure how to write the temp loops. Here is the program so far. public class Basketball { public static void main(String[] args) { String [] name = {"Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, B.J. Armstrong, Scott Williams, Stacey King"}; int [] age = {29, 27, 27, 27, 25, 24, 26}; int [] scored = {2541, 1510, 1017, 1008, 422, 408}; double [] percent = {0.495, 0.473, 0.508, 0.499, 0.466 ,0.471}; int [] attempts = {2003, 1327, 829, 151, 356, 340}; int [] assists = {428, 507, 201, 330, 68, 71}; int temp = 0; for (int x = 1; x< 6; x++) { if (age[x] < age[temp]) temp = x; } System.out.println("The youngest player is " +temp); temp = 0; for (int y =1; y<6; y++) { if (scored[y] > scored[temp]) temp = y; } System.out.println(" Had the most assists" +temp ); temp = 0; for (int z =1; z<6; z++) { if (scored[z] > scored[temp]) temp = z; } temp = 0; for (int w =1; w<6; w++) { if (scored[w] > scored[temp]) temp = w; } temp = 0; for (int v =1; v<6; v++) { if (scored[v] > scored[temp]) temp = v; } } } I need the program to be able to answer the following questions. 1. Who is the youngest player? 2. Who had the most assists? 3. Who had the highest field goal percentage? 4. Who scored the most points? 5. Who had the most field goal attempts? 6. What is the total number of points scored for the top six players? I need to allign the name arrays and other arrays for questions 1-5. I'm not sure how to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Before you submit a response please check if what you're suggesting will make the program work. Thanks. Okay. Questions 2-4 work. 1 gives the wrong answerof Stacey King. Here's the code for that one: int temp = 0; for (int x = 0; x<6; x++) { if (age[x] < age[temp]) temp = x; } System.out.println("The youngest player is " +name[temp]); Output:The youngest player is Stacey King Also, I'm not sure about how to write the code to answer the 6th question. What is the total number of points scored for the top six players Thanks for the help. Okay, I've got the 6th question to work. Now just the 1st question isn't outputting the correct answer.  more
